November 17th and 18th, 2016

Honors:  Students will use any method to solve systems of equations.

October 26th and 27th, 2016

Students worked on stations to wrap up Unit Three.
They reviewed:

•  finding slope
• writing equations from two points, tables, and a graph
• writing equations given a point and a slope
• writing equations of parallel and perpendicular lines
• interpreting x- and y- intercepts
• writing equations of lines parallel and perpendicular to the x- and y-axis
• identifying the point and slope in point-slope form

October 24th and 25th, 2016

Students will write the equations of parallel (same slope) and perpendicular lines.

Level students will continue to write the equations of a line.  Honors will focus on writing equations of lines that are parallel and perpendicular to the x- and y-axis.  They will also be able to transform questions from point-slope, slope-intercept, and standard form.

This is our first lesson in Unit Two.  Students will learn about functions.  When given mapping diagrams, tables, graphs, and ordered pairs students will be able to determine if it is a function or not.

Both Level and Honors took a Unit One Practice Test.  The practice test is a reflection of what the real test will be and should give you an idea of what you need to study to be successful.  The test will be on September 16th or September 19th.

Sept. 1st and 2nd, 2016

Students will solve literal equations.  When given scientific or mathematical formulas and equations students will be able to solve for any variable.

Level - Students learned solving inequalities.  The big idea is that it is the same idea as solving decimals, BUT when you divide or multiply by a negative you have to FLIP THE INEQUALITY SYMBOL.
